Large-flowered epimedium (large-flowered linden), also known by its scientific name Epimedium brevicornum. In English, this shrubby plant is known as Horny goat weed or Horny goat, which in Slovenian means ‘the goat’s necessary herb’. The name refers to the increased libido observed in goats that have eaten the shrub. It grows to a height of 30 cm and has numerous flowers (purple, pink, yellow and white in colour), which are arranged in clusters or bunches.

Horny goat weed grows in temperate and subtropical climates and is native to China and Korea. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for millennia as a traditional remedy for numerous ailments.
