Organic Basil

Basil is an aromatic annual plant that is extremely popular in Italian, Greek, and also French cuisine. It can be used fresh, frozen, in oil or dried. Although the dried version has the least pronounced flavour, it develops a full aroma in cooked dishes; you simply need to add a little more than you would if using it fresh. It is most commonly used in pasta sauces. It goes well with pulses, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines and squash. It also complements meat dishes, fish and soups. In Italy, fresh basil is used primarily on pizza and in combination with garlic and cheese – mozzarella. It combines well with onion, garlic and pepper, particularly in salad dressings, where it is first soaked in one of the liquid ingredients for the salad dressing. Add it at least 10 minutes before the end of cooking to allow it to impart its aroma to the dish. Before use, crumble the dried basil between your fingers.

Basil stimulates the appetite and aids digestion . It is considered an adaptogenic plant that restores balance to the body, as it has an anti-stress effect, strengthens the immune system and regulates hormone secretion, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

Storage

Store in a dry, dark and cool place.

An airtight zip-lock bag, in which the product retains all its freshness and aroma. The packaging protects against light and air, as it consists of several layers of protection that preserve the properties of the contents.
