Organic Tulsi Powder

Tulsi is also known as wild or holy basil. Its Latin name is Ocimum sanctum. In Ayurveda, it is a highly prized plant, which Hindus honour with special rituals and have been using for over 5,000 years as a healing balm for the body, mind and spirit. It is most commonly used to make tea. However, it is also frequently used as an ingredient (spice) in various dishes.

Tulsi powder has a very strong aroma, a pungent and bitter taste, and a light green colour.

What are the most significant effects of Tulsi, the ‘queen of plants’, on human health?

Due to its adaptogenic properties, Tulsi has the ability to increase vitality and strength.

“The mother of all natural remedies”, as it is often called, is a rich source of antioxidants that protect our body against free radicals and oxidation. It also contains organic forms of copper, which are essential for the body’s absorption of iron. Tulsi is generally considered a safe herb.

Usage and recommended daily intake

1 teaspoon per day Stir into a glass of water or make a tea by pouring a cup of water over a teaspoon of powder and leaving it to stand for 10 minutes. Then sweeten to taste and drink. The powder can also be sprinkled over food or added to a smoothie.

Externally, it can be used as a treatment for various skin conditions and for general skincare. Mix tulsi powder with a little water to form a thick paste, apply it to the skin and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly and care for your skin as usual. For hair, prepare a slightly thinner paste, apply it to the hair and scalp, and leave it on for up to half an hour. Then rinse with water. Use shampoo and conditioner if necessary. Repeat the process once a week or less frequently, as required.
