Organic Spirulina Powder
Spirulina, known as a natural superfood, thrives best in the mineral-rich waters of the warm tropical sea. It takes its name from its spiral shape and is considered one of the earliest forms of life on Earth. It was already extremely popular and highly valued by the Aztecs. Traditionally, it was used to make stews and various cakes, and was consumed for strength and stamina. However, spirulina has regained its popularity in recent years. As such, it has been regarded as one of the best and most popular superfoods for quite some time now. It has also been approved by the FDA and the WHO, and is reportedly consumed by astronauts on missions. Spirulina is rich in minerals and salts from the seas and oceans. These contain the same minerals as human blood. The algae thus contain natural vitamins and minerals that the body can easily digest.
Spirulina and other algae are most commonly consumed in powder form. However, we also offer spirulina in tablet form.
Our spirulina is organically grown.
What are the benefits of spirulina?
It contains chlorophyll, a high percentage of protein, all essential amino acids and just a few per cent of mainly unsaturated fats. Chlorophyll is sometimes referred to as ‘green blood’, as its molecular structure is extremely similar to that of haemoglobin and is therefore well-suited to our bodies. Spirulina is also very easily digestible due to its cell wall, which is composed of digestible mucopolysaccharides (rather than cellulose, as in other plants). Among the amino acids, the most important is gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is found only in breast milk, borage oil, hemp seeds and certain other algae.
It also has a beneficial effect on digestion, promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut and improves gut flora. Spirulina is an excellent support for a healthy diet and various (weight-loss) diets.
Spirulina is a rich natural source of potassium, as well as iron, calcium, zinc, sodium, manganese, magnesium, selenium, iodine, chromium and even sulphur. It also contains beta-carotene and electrolytes. Among the vitamins, the most important are vitamins A1, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, B12, C, D and E.
In addition to the above, it is also worth noting that spirulina has a beneficial effect on hair and skin. With a quarter of a teaspoon of spirulina and a few drops of water, you can prepare a face mask, which you apply to cleansed skin and leave on for 20 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly and moisturise with cream. You can repeat this process 2–3 times a week.
Why is spirulina referred to as a superfood and why is it good to consume?
Spirulina has a distinctive composition, which includes high levels of plant proteins (including essential proteins and amino acids), vitamins, minerals and other important active ingredients. Its unique composition fully nourishes the cells of the human body. It removes heavy metals from the body, thereby detoxifying it.
We also classify it as a superfood because it has a high protein efficiency ratio; the proteins in spirulina are easily digestible and can be effectively utilised by the body in its processes.

Usage and recommended daily intake
1 teaspoon per day or 3–5 g mixed with tea, water, juice or another liquid, such as freshly squeezed juice or a smoothie. The 3–5 gram dose is also suitable for younger children, from the age of 2 onwards. For normal use, when taking medication, or for athletes, the dose can be increased to as much as 30 g per day.
It can also be sprinkled over salads. It can also be added to energy bars or homemade granola. It can also be used in cooking, as spirulina does not lose its nutritional value when heated.
We recommend making a drink with cocoa or maca powder and a dash of coconut. It can also be mixed with a mashed banana.
The initial dose should be one-third of the recommended daily amount, which you should increase to the recommended level after a couple of days.
Spirulina is an excellent dietary supplement for everyone, but it is particularly beneficial for those who do not eat meat or meat products, for malnourished people, the elderly and the sick. It is also suitable for athletes and active people, as it helps the body absorb nutrients more easily. Even young children can take it.
For optimal results, we recommend taking it for at least 3 to 6 months. However, it can also be taken continuously for longer periods.
Spirulina contains the blue pigment phycocyanin, which stimulates the production of stem cells. It is therefore advisable to take it together with medicinal mushrooms (ganoderma, chaga, maitake). This achieves a beneficial and synergistic effect on our immune system.

Dietary supplement. Traditionally, it is used in China as a tonic for the whole body, as it is an extremely powerful antioxidant that effectively combats all types of inflammation. It is also considered an adaptogenic herb, which means it strengthens all the body’s organ systems without interfering with their natural functioning. Nor does it overstimulate the organs; instead, it restores the body’s lost balance. This is why it is sometimes referred to as the ‘great protector’.
