Cordyceps (caterpillar fungus)
The Cordyceps mushroom has been known in traditional culture for thousands of years, and has been used for at least as long due to its beneficial properties. The mushroom grows wild in high-altitude mountain regions and is a dietary supplement known for its ability to revitalise and strengthen the body. In the Far East, it is harvested in its natural habitat, which is very difficult to access. Due to its small size (a single dried mushroom weighs around 0.3 g), the fact that it grows for only 14 days a year, the active compounds it contains, and its widespread use in traditional culture, it can fetch prices of up to €50,000 per kilogram. Until recently, it was therefore reserved solely for Chinese emperors and rulers.
Cordyceps is considered the most remarkable dietary discovery of our millennium.
Cordyceps is very difficult to produce, particularly in Europe. However, we are proud to have successfully cultivated it.It is one of the highest-quality varieties currently available on the market.
Cordyceps is a parasitic fungus which, in the wild, grows as a parasite on insects, most commonly on caterpillars, from which it derives its English name, ‘Caterpillar Fungus’. However, our cultivated mushrooms are not grown on animal hosts and are therefore also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
The cultivation of our Cordyceps mushrooms is strictly monitored, without the use of chemicals or pesticides, and 100% organic.
What does it contain and who is it intended for?
Cordyceps consists of complex lipids, proteins, trace elements, polysaccharides and vitamins. All the elements in the mushroom are present in large quantities and have a very positive effect on our body. It contains beta-carotene, vitamins E and C. It also contains minerals such as zinc and selenium, as well as 77 micro- and macroelements and unique substances such as cordycepin (adenosine), cordycepic acid (D-mannitol) and an immunomodulatory polysaccharide (beta-D-glucan).
In powder form, Cordyceps contains a wealth of nutrients whose beneficial effects have also been scientifically proven. Studies in various countries around the world have identified numerous beneficial effects of regular Cordyceps consumption.
We particularly recommend Cordyceps to athletes and other active individuals following prolonged physical exertion, as well as to those who wish to maintain a more active pace in their daily activities.
And what is extremely important here is that Cordyceps is a 100% natural product.
Why mushrooms, of all things?
Mushrooms are fascinating. They are neither plants nor animals; rather, they are truly incredible organisms that have managed to survive practically since the dawn of time. They have developed a unique survival strategy that has sustained them to this day. We humans can also benefit from their unique properties by incorporating them into our diet. They bring balance to our bodies, contribute to our general well-being and protect us from numerous health issues.
As certain natural active compounds are indigestible or difficult for us to digest, it is very important that we consume only the very best powdered mushrooms. The mushrooms must be properly cultivated, dried and prepared. They must be ground into a fine powder without any lumps. The colour of the powder is lighter, though this also depends on the type of mushroom we are taking. As mushrooms are so effective precisely because they have the ability to absorb everything – both good and bad – from the environment, it is important to choose organically grown ones.

Usage
Mix the mushroom into a liquid, such as water, tea, coffee, cocoa, yoghurt, juice, a smoothie, etc. Stir well and drink in small sips as soon as possible. Take it during a meal or at least half an hour after eating. We advise against taking it in the evening or before bedtime, as Cordyceps has a stimulating effect.
It is advisable to take the mushroom or mixture continuously for at least three to four weeks and not to stop taking it as soon as you notice an improvement. Repeat the course twice a year, preferably in autumn and spring. We recommend long-term use only for chronic conditions. Even then, we recommend regular breaks of a few days, which should be as long as possible once improvement is noticed.
We recommend taking medicinal mushrooms alongside vitamin C.
Recommended daily intake
The recommended intake is 1–2 teaspoons per day. 1 teaspoon contains approximately 2–3 grams of powdered mushroom. We recommend taking half the dose for a few days when you first start, and gradually increasing it to the recommended amount.
For preventative use, 1 teaspoon per day is sufficient. If your general condition deteriorates, follow a one- to two-week course of treatment, which can be repeated several times a year.
For autoimmune diseases, we recommend taking 2 teaspoons daily for three weeks.

Dietary supplement. Traditionally, it is used in China as a tonic for the whole body, as it is an extremely powerful antioxidant that effectively combats all types of inflammation. It is also considered an adaptogenic herb, which means it strengthens all the body’s organ systems without interfering with their natural functioning. Nor does it overstimulate the organs; instead, it restores the body’s lost balance. This is why it is sometimes referred to as the ‘great protector’.
