Autophagy, or autophagocytosis, comes from the Ancient Greek for ‘to devour oneself’. It is a natural, regulated cellular mechanism that removes unnecessary or non-functional components from the cell. In 2016, the Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of autophagy and its molecular mechanisms.

Autophagy helps the cell to regenerate, eliminate unnecessary substances and regain its vitality. We can also help to activate autophagy ourselves, thereby helping our bodies to achieve better health, strengthen our immune system, give us more energy, ensure better sleep, make our skin glow again and slow down the ageing process.

We can activate autophagy:

Autophagy tea contains ingredients that activate the process of autophagy – these are bergamot essential oil, black tea, green tea and cinnamon.

To make autophagy tea, you’ll also need coconut oil. Once you’ve prepared the tea, simply add a teaspoon of coconut oil to it and enjoy your cup of tea. Coconut oil also activates the process of autophagy.

Store in a dry, dark and cool place.
